Privacy notice
Effective 15 October 2026. This notice covers information handled for the Trim Checkout website, customer accounts, product licensing, downloads and support. A merchant using the Trim Checkout plugin on its own store is responsible for its own customer privacy information.
Who is responsible
Trim Checkout is an MR DIGIX product. MR DIGIX is a brand of Empirix Global Limited, company number 17001025. Our registered office is Unit A256 4 – 6 Greatorex Street, London, United Kingdom, E1 5NF.
Empirix Global Limited is responsible for the personal information it uses to operate these services. Contact support@trimcheckout.com for privacy questions or to exercise a data-protection right. Paddle separately handles personal information for transactions made through its checkout, as explained in the Paddle Privacy Notice.
Information used and why
- Account and purchase information: contact and account details, purchase references, selected plan, payment status and entitlement records are used to provide customer access and administer your purchase.
- License and download information: licensed website URLs, installation identity, activation status, site allowance and update/download authorisation are used to operate licensing and deliver eligible downloads.
- Support information: the messages and diagnostic details you choose to send are used to investigate and respond to your request. Remove customer details and secrets from screenshots or attachments.
- Website and technical information: session information and ordinary technical request or security records are used to operate the website, maintain sessions, investigate faults and protect access.
Paddle collects the payment and billing details needed for checkout and provides transaction information needed to fulfil the purchase. Do not send payment-card details to Trim Checkout support.
Legal grounds
Where UK or EU data-protection law applies, processing needed to provide the product, account or support is based on performing the relevant contract or taking requested steps before it. Applicable record-keeping and other legal requirements provide a basis for processing required by law. Protecting the website, preventing misuse and investigating technical problems are legitimate business interests, subject to your rights. Where processing requires consent, that consent must be obtained and can be withdrawn without affecting earlier lawful processing.
Cookies and sessions
WordPress and WooCommerce use cookies or similar session storage for functions such as signing in and maintaining a cart or checkout session. Browser controls let you remove or restrict cookies, although doing so can affect these functions. Paddle may use its own cookies and technical information when you open its checkout; its privacy notice explains its practices.
Service providers and disclosures
Hosting, email-delivery and other providers supporting the website may process information needed to operate those services. Paddle handles transactions as an authorised reseller. Information may also need to be disclosed to comply with legal obligations, address fraud or protect legal rights. The information relevant to a purchase is used to connect payment confirmation with account, license and download access.
How long information is kept
Retention depends on the information and its purpose. Relevant factors include the duration of the account or purchased entitlement, support and dispute handling, security needs, and applicable tax, accounting or other legal requirements. These periods can differ by record type. Contact us to ask about retention or deletion for a particular category; a deletion request does not remove records that must lawfully be retained.
Your choices and rights
Depending on the law that applies, you may have rights to access or correct personal information, request deletion or restricted processing, object to certain uses, receive a portable copy, and withdraw consent where consent is the basis for processing. These rights are subject to legal conditions. We may need information to verify a request before disclosing or changing account data.
Send requests to support@trimcheckout.com. UK residents can also raise a concern with the Information Commissioner’s Office. You may have a right to complain to the data-protection authority where you live.
Questions about a provider or transfer
Providers may operate in more than one country. Contact us for information about the providers handling your data and any safeguards applicable to an international transfer. Paddle describes its own processing and transfers in its privacy notice.
